I am continuing in my quest to finish The Captain. Right now the book has just gotten in to the Yankees acquisition of star third baseman, Alex Rodriguez. People wondered how the transition would be for both players. Derek, being so used to winning and team success, was not able to embrace Alex for the first few years due to Alex's obsessions with his individual accomplishments rather than reaching team goals. Alex was also not able to accept the fact that he was no longer going to be the standout player on the roster. Will the two high profile players be able to overcome there differences and achieve postseason success?

The book I have recently started reading is called The Captain. This book entails the life of Derek Jeter, a future first ballot hall of famer and arguably one of the greatest Yankees of all time. I really have enjoyed this book so far. I find it exciting to learn details about his early life. I also learned of the struggles he endured early in his days after he was drafted. This book appeals to me because I am a huge sports fan. However, you don't have to be a sports fan to enjoy this title.
